The basic purpose of a Hunter Education class is to teach hunters to be safe, legal and responsible. Topics covered include wildlife management, wildlife identification, ethics, laws and regulations, and firearms safety
and handling. While Hunter Education classes enable safer hunting, they also help hunters to be more successful in their hunts by being prepared for the Colorado outdoors – and emphasize ethical hunting behavior.
Class Details
 in person, classroom setting (Frying Pan Lodge in Bass Pro Shops)
 10 hours minimum class time (split into 4 days)
 written test
 live fire exercise ( Last Thursday after test)
 cost $10
It is encouraged that a student be a minimum of “10 years of age” to attend this course
“YOU MUST ATTEND ALL 4 SESSIONS” During the online registration please complete the “STUDENT CONSENT FORM” and bring it with you.
Please be prepared to pay the $10.00 class fee to the instructors (Cash only) at check-in of the first session

will teach you how to “return” to your favorite fishing holes, hunting locations and “always” be able to find your way back to your campsite…

Class includes instruction on Using a Compass and GPS with a Topographic Map. This class focuses on the fundamentals of outdoor navigation with a compass, GPS receiver and a printed topographic map. Students will receive instruction on compass use, map reading, GPS setup, accuracy, coordinate systems, map datums, waypoints, and tracklogs. Receivers and compasses are available for loan if you don't already have one. Students should be prepared for a combination of classroom instruction and outdoor exercises at a nearby location.

The emphasis is on using a compass and GPS with a published map for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and 4-wheeling.

ADVANCED RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!
Reserved class room seating is limited to 10 people.

The basic purpose of a Hunter Education class is to teach hunters to be safe, legal and responsible. Topics covered include wildlife management, wildlife identification, ethics, laws and regulations, and firearms safety
and handling. While Hunter Education classes enable safer hunting, they also help hunters to be more successful in their hunts by being prepared for the Colorado outdoors – and emphasize ethical hunting behavior.
Class Details
 in person, classroom setting (Frying Pan Lodge in Bass Pro Shops)
 10 hours minimum class time (split into 4 days)
 written test
 live fire exercise ( Last Thursday after test)
 cost $10
It is encouraged that a student be a minimum of “10 years of age” to attend this course

Class includes instruction on Using a Compass and GPS with a Topographic Map. This class focuses on the fundamentals of outdoor navigation with a compass, GPS receiver and a printed topographic map. Students will receive instruction on compass use, map reading, GPS setup, accuracy, coordinate systems, map datums, waypoints, and tracklogs. Receivers and compasses are available for loan if you don't already have one. Students should be prepared for a combination of classroom instruction and outdoor exercises at a nearby location.

The emphasis is on using a compass and GPS with a published map for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and 4-wheeling.

ADVANCED RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!
Reserved class room seating is limited to 10 people.
