All of us love a day or more out in Colorado’s high country. But what if you, a friend, or loved one sustained an injury while hiking or hunting in a remote area with no cell phone coverage? Would you know what to do? This class emphasizes practical techniques such as how to make a stretcher using materials found at the scene. Instructor Wayne Smart, EMT, will also cover more subjects than any similar course offered, including CPR, choking emergencies, tourniquet application, EpiPen administration and triage techniques using a pulse oximeter and glucometer. The usual first aid practices will also be taught and the class meets OSHA and Colorado Fish and Wildlife Division requirements. For questions and to reserve a place, email Wayne at faroutfa@gmail.com.
