Are you interested in archery and need to start at the very beginning? Our Archery Expert will go over everything from types of bows and arrow choices to proper care and safety and even get you shooting!

Please preregister by emailing arcoker@basspro.com or contacting our Operator at (916) 251-3800, space is limited. Include your age, first & last name, e-mail. Class time is at 3pm on specified Sundays, the operator can provide you with the dates.

INTRODUCTION TO ARCHERY - OUTLINE Ages, 8-18 The Archery class will include the following: Eye Dominance determined...Archery safety rules Archery tackle sized to each Archer Basic shooting techniques Grouping & consistency Range... courtesy Introduction to Archery is an Orientation session and includes correctly sizing equipment to the archer (bow, arrows, safety gear etc.) and determining eye dominance (eye dominance controls aiming). We recommend that you do not purchase equipment until the student has been assessed for eye dominance, and has been shooting for a while. Students will be able to gain strength, and will need longer arrows as they practice and stretch out. We can advise on equipment at that time. Once the fundamentals have been learned, the student may also participate in open practice sessions (space permitting) and further training programs.

How should I dress when I come to the Archery Class? You will want to wear casual, comfortable clothing. Please refrain from wearing baggy clothing, such as baggy or long-sleeved shirts, as it will hinder shooting by creating drag on the string. If you have long hair, please bring a hair tie to keep your hair back. Long and dangling earrings may also pose a risk.
