This seminar is designed to help bird hunters find
public land places to hunt doves, quail, and chukar
With fall fast approaching, upland bird hunters need to be asking themselves some questions:
Do you have enough good places to hunt doves, quail, and chukar on public lands in Southern California?
Do you know where the guzzlers are located in our local deserts and mountains?
Are you positive you are hunting on legal hunting ground when you go out?
Do you know the areas that had the best hatches and hold the most birds for 2021?
Do you believe there are more good places to hunt gamebirds than there are upland hunters left in the region?
If you answered “no” to any or all of these questions, Jim Matthews, a long-time newspaper outdoor writer, WON contributor, and editor of the highly-acclaimed Western Birds newsletter, is conducting a pair of where-to-go bird hunting seminars at Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga July 31 and Aug. 14, and he will help you give “yes” answers to all of those questions.
The seminars are $100 per household (spouses and children welcome), and it includes a two-issue subscription to the Western Birds newsletter. Sessions are held from 3:30 to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 14, in the Fine Gun Room at Bass Pro Shops, Rancho Cucamonga.
Seating is still very limited because of COVID restrictions, so pre-registration is required (no walk-ups). Hunters can get registration forms at Matthews’ website at www.OutdoorNewsService.com from the “seminars” page. These PDF forms may be filled out and returned via e-mail to Matthews at odwriter@verizon.net. Registration may also be done over the phone by calling 909-887-3444.
